The Fritz Walther “Leuchtpistole 34” flare gun was manufactured from 1926 to 1943. It was used in all branches of the Wehrmacht until the end in 1945, then continued its service life in various armies after the war. Make: Germany, Walther Model: Leuchtpistole 34 AYF 40 with aluminum barrel. Serial number: 1336 (MSN 10197) Post-war conversion to L-4K. Redesignated ZL-4K on August 26, 1947. Recovered at Tinker Field on September 20, 1949. Caliber: 26.5mm Barrel length: 6” Type of action: Single-shot rocket pistol Markings: The left side of the pistol is marked ‘Z’, ‘13’, ‘1336’ and ‘AYF 40’. The right side of the barrel and frame is marked with the German eagle, twice. Stock configuration and condition: The grips are original Baklite with a good fit. The checkering is crisp overall, with no visible cracks or chips. Grips are in excellent overall condition. Type of finish: Black General condition: Scratches all over the gun.
